Guild War, Guild Siege, and Other Such Things
The LivingWater guild is very laid back. It's a guild for people that are active as much as possible and want to be part of an active and fun guild but perhaps can't be consistently online at a given time of the day or week. The guild leaders realize that people have real lives that can be demanding, and hope you realize that they do as well. The leaders will do their best to keep things interesting for the members, but cannot guarantee that they will be able to lead guild wars, guild sieges, or other such events. Of course, it depends on the members as well. If the members are consistently online together when the time comes for these events, then maybe we will be able to do them. Also keep in mind that we will not be able to do Guild Siege until the guild is at least level twenty and the vast majority of our members are level 90+. However, we are definately ready and capable of pulling off a successful Guild War.
Ranks
Rookie: This is a trial rank for new members. Rookies have one week from the time they join the guild to meet the requirements for a promotion to supporter or it will be assumed that they have no interest in staying in the guild.
Supporter: This rank is for members that have shown that they support and who look like they will benefit the guild. Supporters have permission to deposit and withdraw items from the guild warehouse, including their guild cloak. If there are no cloaks in the warehouse when you try to get yours, contact a guild leader. Please only take one cloak (you can only wear one at a time, and they cannot be sold or worn by non-guild members). (There is more information on the guild warehouse below.) Supporters will also receive a small salary.
Captain: This rank is for members who have more significantly supported the guild. In addition to being able to use the guild warehouse, captains receive a larger salary and can invite people to join the guild. (Captains, please make sure that people you invite meet the membership requirements, otherwise they will have to leave the guild).
Kingpin: This rank is reserved for very significant supporters, guild leaders, and close personal friends of guild leaders. You never know, though: perhaps the leaders are looking for new best friends... (Be friendly? Yes! Beg? No!)
Master: Sorry, this slot is taken. :)
Promotion Requirements
In this guild, requirements for getting promotions and the related benefits are based on a member's willingness to contribute to the guild's success. The main way for a player to do this is to open the guild warehouse (click on any bank NPC on channel 1), click "Support," and contribute either penya or quest items (the ones that drop from monsters). It is important that you use this method, rather than just dropping things in the guild warehouse, so that your contribution will apply toward leveling the guild.
When you contribute quest items, please note that using the support feature of the guild warehouse will remove all quest items from your inventory, so make sure you store any quest items that you want to keep somehwere else (backpack, bank, etc.). Also, keep in mind that the higher the level of the monster that dropped the item, the greater the value of that item in terms of leveling up the guild. I think that the number of experience points a quest item is worth is 1/2 of the level of the monster that dropped it, so 5 Forforms would be worth 3 / 2 X 5 = 7.5 = 8 guild experience points, whereas 5 Eriniors would be worth 67 / 2 X 5 = 167.5 = 168 guild experience points. (These calculations might be completely off, but they give you an idea of how it works. For a chart listing exactly how many guild experience points each different type of quest item is worth, click here.) Hint: Check the shops around Darkon and Sain Morning for Blue Crystals and Green Crystals. They are high level quest items that are usually very cheap (only 20,000 to 30,000 penya each).
Item contributions will apply directly to leveling the guild and the items will disappear from existence in the game. Penya contributions will be put into the guild warehouse, and from there, some will be automatically deducted when the guild levels up, some will be used to pay member salaries, and some will be used by the guild leaders to purchase more quest items which will then be used to level the guild. You can see how much penya and how many items you and other members have contributed by opening the guild window and pointing to a name in the "Members" tab.
Here are the requirements for a promotion to each rank.
Supporter:
Contribute one million (1,000,000) penya AND
Contribute five hundred (500) guild experience points from quest items
Captain:
Contribute ten million (10,000,000) penya AND
Contribute five thousand (5,000) guild experience points from quest items
Kingpin:
Be a very close personal friend of the guild Master (e.g. family member) OR
Contribute one hundred million (100,000,000) penya AND
Contribute fifty thousand (50,000) guild experience points from quest items
Master:
Be online when the guild master decides that FlyFF is a complete waste of time and decides to quit forever. You never know, you might get picked as the next guild master. (Um... this is not very likely, by the way.)
Note that the game limits the number of people within a guild that can hold any given rank. Regardless of the level of the guild, there may be a maximum of twenty supporters, ten captains, five kingpins, and one master (rookies is unlimited). Therefore, if more people meet the contribution requirements for promotion to a given rank than there are positions available at that rank, then those who have contributed the most will be the ones to actually hold those positions. If a member increases their contribution so that it surpasses that of a player that holds the higher rank, then their ranks will be swapped. If all the positions in the supporter rank are filled and there are members that have met the requirements for promotion to supporter, then rookies will begin to recieve a sallary and will be given permission to access the guild warehouse.
I know the requirements for promotion may seem high, but consider how small they are in comparison to the vast contributions needed to significantly level the guild. For a chart of how much penya/items must be contributed to get the guild to the next level, click here.
Certain exceptions may apply to these requirements in some cases.
Guild Warehouse
The guild warehouse may be used by every rank but rookies. The warehouse will function primarily as a place where we can share HP, MP, and FP restorers (e.g. food, refreshers, vital drinks, pills). Any of these items placed in the warehouse are free for the taking. For example if the monsters you are killing are dropping food that is not useful to you, you can dump it in the warehouse for some lower level member to use.
In addition to HP, MP, and FP restorers, the warehouse may be used to store anything you like. It really comes in handy when you find that you have temporarily run out of space in your own bank but need just a few more storages spaces. However, two rules apply in the case of these other items: (1) please only store these other items in the warehouse for short periods of time, not to exceed three hours, and (2) do not remove other members' items from the warehouse. Other than HP, MP, and FP restorers, do not remove items from the warehouse unless you put them into the warehouse. If you think another member has taken something of yours out of the warehouse, let Mipsey or Filleymay know about it and they will do their best to get the item returned to you; however, they cannot guarantee that they will be able to do so; therefore, it's probably best not to store very valuable items in the warehouse, and it is recommended that you do not store anything there at all. Items stored in the warehouse for more than three hours may be removed by the guild leaders, although it is unlikely that the guild leaders will do this unless the warehouse is almost full.
Only the master and kingpins may withdraw penya from the warehouse. This is to prevent members from stealing all the penya and leaving the guild with it. If you have contributed penya to the guild and you would like to get it back again, you can contact Mipsey or Filleymay, and they will withdraw it from the warehouse and give it to you. Although the leaders are happy to do this for you, it can be a little bit of trouble for them, so please try not to contribute penya that you don't want to contribute. The first million penya contributed (the amount needed for a promotion to supporter and to secure your position in the guild) may not be refunded.
